Detran-RN launches online service for seized vehicle release

The State Transit Department of Rio Grande do Norte (Detran-RN) has launched a new online service to facilitate the release of seized vehicles. Through the agency's service portal, owners can now open and monitor the release process digitally using a gov.br or CNPJ account.

To utilize the system, owners must provide the vehicle's license plate and Renavam number, then upload the required documentation. In cases involving judicial orders or Civil Police determinations, a digital signature with a QR code is required. While the process is primarily online, owners must still settle all outstanding debts and expenses related to the vehicle before it can be removed from the impound lot. If the digital request is denied, the system will indicate the specific pending issues that need regularization.
