Detran SP vehicle licensing deadlines for August 2026

Detran SP announced that vehicles with license plates ending in 3 and 4 must be licensed by 31 August 2026, continuing the state’s staggered licensing calendar that began with plates 1 and 2 in July. The schedule applies to a fleet of 27.6 million vehicles, of which more than a third have already been licensed.

Owners can complete the process online through the Detran SP portal, paying the R$174.08 fee, any pending fines, and the IPVA tax, then download the digital CRLV‑e document. The agency also provides contact options, including WhatsApp (11 2178‑9494), a 0800 line (0800‑0204040/1), and regional numbers, with service available Monday‑Friday from 8 am to 8 pm.
