Detroit Lions coach compares Jared Goff to Drew Brees

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell has compared quarterback Jared Goff’s processing speed and accuracy to that of former New Orleans Saints star Drew Brees. Campbell, who served as an assistant coach for the Saints from 2016 to 2020, noted that Goff’s ability to read the game and maintain accuracy under duress has improved every year.

Both Goff and Brees are characterized as classic pocket passers who rely on timing, rhythm, and anticipation rather than rushing ability. Goff recorded a 72% completion rate during the 2024 season.

Looking ahead to the 2026 season, analysts expect the Lions' offense to remain highly explosive.
