Detroit Lions defeat Arizona Cardinals 45-21

The Detroit Lions secured a decisive 45-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5, fueled by an aggressive offensive game plan. Quarterback Jared Goff threw three touchdown passes and added a rushing touchdown, while running back Jahmyr Gibbs recorded 151 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Gibbs’ performance set a new NFL record for the most total touchdowns scored by a player before their 25th birthday, reaching 58 and surpassing former Lions legend Barry Sanders. Gibbs is now also eyeing LaDainian Tomlinson’s single-season record of 31 touchdowns.

Wide receiver Jameson Williams also contributed significantly, recording his first multi-touchdown game. The win moves the Lions to a 3-2 record, while the Cardinals fall to 1-4. Amidst the game, news emerged that the Cardinals traded receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans.
