Detroit Lions defense hit by injuries and scrutiny after Panthers loss

The Detroit Lions' defense faces significant challenges following a 32-26 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Head coach Dan Campbell addressed the team's defensive struggles and recent injuries during a press conference.

Defensive players Rock Ya-Sin and Tyleik Williams were both injured during the second half of the game. Ya-Sin suffered a hamstring injury that Campbell described as not looking good, potentially impacting the team's cornerback depth. Williams is considered day-to-day after being seen in a walking boot.

Despite the defense allowing 31.8 points per game—the lowest in the league—Campbell stated he is not considering replacing defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard at this time. Campbell emphasized that the team will “exhaust everything” to improve before making personnel changes, noting that the organization will not enter “panic mode” with 13 games remaining in the season.
