Detroit Lions eye veteran receiver and running back contracts in training camp
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell praised the addition of veteran wide receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr., who signed a one‑year, league‑minimum contract worth $1.3 million. Campbell highlighted Wilson’s “crafty” route running, body control and special‑teams ability, noting his performance in training camp and his experience as a valuable veteran presence.
The Lions are also focused on securing a contract extension for running back Jahmyr Gibbs. After Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson signed a three‑year, $75 million extension, Campbell said the deal “won’t hurt” and could accelerate talks with Gibbs. Sources indicate the Lions expect to reach an agreement with Gibbs in the coming days, positioning him as the next major contract for the team.
