Detroit Lions players Jack Campbell and Brock Wright fined by NFL

The NFL has issued fines to Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell and tight end Brock Wright for on-field actions during a game against the Carolina Panthers.

Jack Campbell was fined $15,930 for a hip drop tackle. Under new NFL rules aimed at player safety, a player who commits three “major” fouls—which include hip drop tackles, horse collar tackles, launching hits on defenseless players, and blindside blocks—will face a one-game suspension. These infractions carry forward into subsequent seasons.

Brock Wright received a fine of $17,911 for a leg whip, categorized as unnecessary roughness. Unlike the hip drop tackle, the leg whip is not currently listed as one of the specific infractions that triggers a suspension for repeat offenses. Both players have the option to appeal the league's decisions.
