Detroit Lions safety Kerby Joseph progressing in rehab despite personal issue
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell provided an update on All-Pro safety Kerby Joseph, noting that while his knee rehabilitation is progressing well, he is currently also dealing with a personal issue.
Joseph, who missed the final 11 games of the previous season due to knee problems, is reportedly on a similar recovery timeline to teammate Brian Branch, who is rehabbing a torn Achilles. Campbell indicated that both players are expected to return later in the season rather than for the regular-season opener.
The Lions have addressed the potential absence of their primary safeties by utilizing veteran Chuck Clark and transitioning Avonte Maddox into a larger role during training camp.
