Detroit Lions scouting targets identified in college football

As the Detroit Lions enter their bye week, analysts are identifying key college football prospects for the team to scout ahead of the NFL Draft. Focus is placed on players demonstrating high levels of intangible qualities, often referred to as the ‘Grit Index’.

Carter Smith, an offensive tackle for Indiana, remains a top prospect. Despite returning to college for another season, he is viewed as a potential first- or second-round pick due to his leadership and elite run-blocking capabilities.

Other notable prospects include Ohio State EDGE Kenyatta Jackson Jr., a pass-rush specialist projected as a second-round talent, and Western Michigan running back Jalen Buckley, a former walk-on and team captain noted for his toughness and work ethic.
