Detroit Lions sign nose tackle Taki Taimani to practice squad
The Detroit Lions have signed free agent nose tackle Taki Taimani to their practice squad. To accommodate Taimani, the team released wide receiver Lawrence Keys.
Taimani, a 6-foot-1, 324-pound defensive player, entered the NFL in 2024 as an undrafted free agent from Oregon. He previously spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, appearing in seven games during his rookie season before an ankle injury placed him on injured reserve. He later spent time on the Vikings' practice squad and was released from their injured reserve list in mid-September.
The addition aims to bolster Detroit's run-stuffing defensive tackle depth, which currently includes Alim McNeill and Tyleik Williams.
