Detroit man sentenced for selling stolen pickup in Minnesota
Curtis Jazmin Blevins, a 36-year-old man from Detroit, has been sentenced in Olmsted County to 60 days in jail following a conviction for theft by swindle. He was also sentenced to five years of probation and received a stayed 33-month prison sentence.
The case involved a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD that had been reported stolen in Flint, Michigan, during transport from an Iowa dealership. Investigators from the Minnesota State Patrol discovered that a counterfeit vehicle identification number (VIN) had been used to replace the original.
The investigation was triggered by a suspicious vehicle-for-sale advertisement on Facebook Marketplace. Blevins sold the vehicle to an unwitting resident of Kasson, Minnesota, for $50,000. During questioning, Blevins provided conflicting accounts regarding the vehicle's origin.
