The Detroit Red Wings have acquired forward Sutter Muzzatti from the Nashville Predators in exchange for future considerations. Following the trade, Detroit signed the 23-year-old to a two-year, entry-level contract.

Muzzatti, a 6-foot-6, 241-pound center, joins the organization after a collegiate career at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Notre Dame. During his final season with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, he recorded 32 points (13 goals and 19 assists) in 37 games, ranking second on the team offensively.

A native of Okemos, Michigan, Muzzatti was originally selected by the Predators in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Draft. The move is viewed as an organizational depth acquisition rather than an immediate impact player for the NHL roster.
