Detroit Red Wings captaincy stripped from Dylan Larkin amid trade request

Dylan Larkin, the former captain of the Detroit Red Wings, is currently involved in a trade request and is sidelined with an upper-body injury. Following his request to be traded, the organization stripped him of his captaincy. While Larkin has reportedly provided a limited list of preferred destinations, a stalemate exists between the player and the team.

Red Wings coach Todd McLellan indicated that Larkin may miss preseason exhibition games due to his injury, potentially forcing him to ramp up during the regular season. In the interim, Andrew Copp is expected to take over the top-line center role, playing alongside Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond.
