Detroit Red Wings players miss practice ahead of season opener

The Detroit Red Wings held a practice at the BELFOR Training Center as the regular season approaches. Several players were absent from the session, including goaltender John Gibson and defenseman Jacob Bernard-Docker, who is on injured reserve. Simon Edvinsson, who remains unsigned, also did not participate in the practice.

Despite these absences, Dylan Larkin participated in the session while managing an upper-body issue. The team also saw the addition of defenseman Andreas Englund, who joined the roster after being picked up off waivers.

Following a recent preseason loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets, center Marco Kasper noted that the team needs to improve puck control and passing accuracy. Kasper emphasized the need to reduce turnovers and be more direct during forechecking situations to better prepare for the upcoming season.
