Detroit Red Wings announced they have re‑signed goaltender Carter Gylander to a one‑year, two‑way contract.
Gylander, 25, spent the 2025‑26 season split between the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye and the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins. With Toledo he posted a 20‑9‑5 record in 34 games, a 2.78 goals‑against average, a .901 save percentage and two shutouts; in the Kelly Cup playoffs he was 6‑4 with a 2.80 GAA and .899 save percentage. With Grand Rapids he appeared in eight games, recording a 1.62 GAA, .942 save percentage and one shutout.
Drafted by Detroit in the seventh round (191st overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Gylander previously played four seasons at Colgate University, where he was named the 2023 ECAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player and helped the Raiders reach the NCAA tournament.
