Detroit Tigers record rare MLB shutout without a strikeout

The Detroit Tigers achieved a rare Major League Baseball feat by recording a 3-0 shutout against the Cleveland Guardians without a single strikeout. This marks the first time a team has completed a shutout without recording a strikeout since July 1, 2014.

Pitcher Keider Montero led the performance, pitching 6.1 scoreless innings while allowing only three hits and one walk. He was supported by Tyler Holton and Kenley Jansen, who also recorded outs without strikeouts. The Tigers' defense played a critical role, converting 27 balls in play into 27 outs.

Offensively, Detroit secured the win with runs driven in by Dillon Dingler, Eduardo Valencia, and Spencer Torkelson. The victory allows the Tigers to secure a playoff spot in the American League.
