Detroit Tigers defeat Twins to extend winning streak

The Detroit Tigers beat the Minnesota Twins in Detroit, winning the series 2‑1. In the opening game the Tigers triumphed 10‑4, fueled by home runs from Dillon Dingler (two), Riley Greene and Kerry Carpenter. Twins outfielder Byron Buxton was moved from the leadoff spot to second in the lineup for the first time since April 5.

Pitcher Keider Montero delivered a six‑plus inning shutout, allowing four hits, one walk and striking out four. Detroit’s offense slammed six home runs in the win, including third‑baseman Colt Keith’s first long ball of the season. The victory marks the Tigers’ third consecutive series win as they head to face the Cleveland Guardians next.
