Detroit Tigers lose series to Washington Nationals

The Detroit Tigers lost their series against the Washington Nationals, including a 4-2 defeat in their final game of the matchup. The loss brings Detroit's record to 74-84 as they approach the end of the season.

While the Tigers are no longer in contention for the postseason, their performance in the final games carries implications for the 2027 MLB Draft lottery. According to Tankathon, the Tigers currently sit in the No. 11 lottery position, with an unofficial projected 15.8% combined chance of securing one of the first six selections. Their final standing will determine their placement in the draft order for non-playoff clubs.
