Detroit to host inaugural Michelin Guide Great Lakes ceremony

Detroit has been selected to host the inaugural Michelin Guide ceremony for the American Great Lakes region on April 21, 2027. The event will take place at Michigan Central and will reveal Michelin stars and other culinary distinctions for restaurants across six cities: Detroit, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Pittsburgh.

Anonymous inspectors began evaluating dining establishments in the region in spring 2026. The ceremony will honor various accolades, including one-, two-, and three-star ratings, Bib Gourmand awards for quality at good value, and Green Stars for sustainable practices. The Michelin Guide intends to rotate its annual ceremony among different cities to highlight diverse culinary landscapes.
