Deurne municipality faces scrutiny over rising Woo-verzoeken costs
The Onafhankelijke Groep Deurne (OGD) has submitted council questions to the municipality of Deurne seeking clarity on the rising number of Woo-verzoeken (Open Government Act requests). The political group is concerned about increasing processing times and the financial impact of these requests on the local government.
Recent data shows that the municipality spent 35,000 euros on an external agency to anonymize documents requested by Omroep Brabant and Transparant Deurne regarding the Green Valley Estate. While the municipality noted this was an exceptional case, other requests, such as one concerning Hazeldonkseweg in Liessel, incurred costs of 1,681.50 euros. OGD is investigating how these requests are handled generally following feedback from a resident regarding long wait times.
