Deutsche Bahn criticized by Greens over ticket app policy
The Green Party has criticized Deutsche Bahn for its refusal to sell tickets from other providers through its Navigator app. According to responses from the Federal Ministry of Transport, Deutsche Bahn AG intends to prioritize its own products within its sales channels, only supplementing them with products from transport associations or DB-affiliated cooperations.
Green Party politician Paula Piechotta condemned the move, arguing that the company is boycotting a unified, multi-provider ticket app and failing to act in the interest of customers. She further alleged that the Ministry of Transport has allowed DB Fernverkehr to retain profits from ticket sales within the app, leading to an unfair distribution of costs and profits.
In response to customer service concerns, Deutsche Bahn announced plans to improve communication. By the end of the year, the company aims to provide timely information regarding station cancellations in over 90 percent of cases and intends to roll out an AI chat on its homepage.
