Deutsche Bahn increases replacement bus services in East Bavaria
Deutsche Bahn has increased the capacity of its replacement bus services in East Bavaria due to ongoing modernization work on the rail line between Obertraubling and Passau. The corridor renovation is proceeding according to schedule, with replacement buses now running at intervals of 20 to 40 minutes on the RE 50 line.
On the RB 51 line, buses are running at least once per hour between Regensburg and Straubing, with increased frequency during peak hours. The renovation project, which is expected to conclude in December, involves the renewal of 120 kilometers of track, 140 switches, and 90 kilometers of overhead lines. Additionally, the project includes the modernization of eight stations to ensure barrier-free access and the installation of new signaling systems and pedestrian underpasses.
