Deutsche Bahn makes family ticket a permanent offering
Deutsche Bahn has announced that its family ticket, previously a limited-time offer, will become a permanent part of its service starting November 1. For 99.99 euros, families can book a round trip, which includes seat reservations in ICE trains. Sales for this offer are scheduled to begin on October 26, according to Bahn executive Evelyn Palla.
In a broader context of public transit trends, data from the Federal Statistical Office indicates an increase in the use of buses and trains for local transport in Germany. Compared to the previous year, both rail and bus usage grew by approximately 2 percent. Over a ten-year period, rail transport has seen a 21 percent increase in transport performance, while bus usage has grown by 1 percent since 2015.
