Deutsche Bahn rail disruptions continue in Achern and Mainz regions

Between Achern and Appenweier, Deutsche Bahn lifted a temporary closure caused by unauthorized persons on the tracks on 30 June 2026. Around Mainz, extensive construction to modernise signalling and track infrastructure runs from 10 July to 25 September 2026 (with further work through 2027). Night‑time total blockades affect S‑Bahn lines S1, S8 and S9 and regional services RE2, RE3, RB10 and RB75, with bus replacement services and reduced timetables. Stations such as Kelsterbach are temporarily unavailable during the works.
