Deutsche Bahn regional services disrupted in Germany in early June 2026

On June 1‑2, an unknown person placed wooden beams in the mechanism of a level‑crossing barrier in Schwäbisch Hall, preventing the gate from opening. The sabotage delayed ten regional trains on the line, with each train running about 20 minutes late. The Federal Police have opened an investigation and are seeking witnesses.

At the same time, the long‑planned closure of the Südbahn line between Aulendorf, Ravensburg and Friedrichshafen, which began on 6 March for bridge replacements and other track works, concluded on Monday, 8 June. Regular regional train service to the Bodensee area resumed. During the closure, express and regional buses substituted the trains, extending some journeys by more than 30 minutes, but the replacement traffic operated without major incidents.
