Deutsche Bahn rolls out discounted BahnCard50 and last‑minute Super Sparpreis tickets

Deutsche Bahn announced a limited‑time promotion for its BahnCard 50, offering the “My BahnCard 50” at €64.99 for 2nd class and other variants at reduced prices until the end of July 2026. The promotion applies to youth, senior, and reduced‑fare categories, with the card providing a 50 % discount on flex fares and 25 % on super‑saver and saver fares across the German long‑distance network.

In a separate offering, the railway operator’s “Super Sparpreis Last Minute” campaign runs through 13 September, featuring ICE tickets as low as €6.99. An analysis by WDR found that bookings made on Saturday mornings and for early‑morning or late‑evening departures have the highest chance of securing these tickets. The discounts average about 50 % compared with regular fares, with savings of €20‑€30 per journey and occasional larger cuts. Both promotions aim to fill less‑used train services and attract price‑sensitive travellers.
