Deutsche Bahn track closures disrupt services in Cologne and Bavaria

A derailment between Plettenberg and Werdohl led to a track blockage in North Rhine‑Westphalia, prompting Deutsche Bahn to suspend regional services such as RE34, RB91 and partially curtail the S19 S‑bahn line in Cologne. Separately, Deutsche Bahn’s InfraGO subsidiary announced a major corridor renovation of the line between Obertraubling and Passau, fully closing the route from 14 June to 12 December 2026. The work affects both passenger and freight traffic, forcing timetable reductions on RE 5 and RB 54, a two‑hour frequency on the Munich‑Rosenheim‑Kufstein segment and hourly bus replacement services between Grafing and Rosenheim.
