Deutsche Bank uses AI to accelerate corporate loan decisions
Deutsche Bank has implemented an internal artificial intelligence platform, named ‘Ada’ after Ada Lovelace, to significantly speed up corporate lending processes. According to Chief Technology Officer Marie-Jeanne Deverdun, the system has reduced decision times for smaller companies from weeks to mere minutes. For more complex multinational corporations, the process has been shortened from months to weeks.
The bank is preparing for a future where AI agents interact directly with clients' own AI agents. To manage the associated risks, the bank is prioritizing cyber risk management and oversight mechanisms. Deutsche Bank, Germany's largest lender by assets, plans to invest more than €2.5 billion in technology between 2026 and 2028 as part of CEO Christian Sewing's goal to transform the institution into an AI-driven bank.
