Deutsche Finance Group offices raided amid bribery allegations

Munich prosecutors conducted raids on the offices of Deutsche Finance Group on November 3, 2026. The investigation is reportedly examining allegations of bribery, specifically that managers may have provided trips and other benefits to employees of the Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK), Germany’s largest public-sector pension fund.

The probe follows significant financial distress for the group, including the preliminary insolvency of the DF Deutsche Finance Investment Fund 17 – Club Deal Boston II. This fund involves approximately 58 million USD in investments and affects over 1,100 investors.

The BVK, which manages roughly 122 billion euros for 2.8 million people, has faced potential write-offs of up to 853 million euros related to US real estate investments linked to Deutsche Finance and SHVO Capital. These assets include high-profile properties such as the Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco. Deutsche Finance stated it is cooperating with authorities as a third party.
