Deutsche Krebshilfe receives 333,000 euros from golf tournament
The 45th annual Golf-Wettspiele charity tournament series has concluded, raising 333,000 euros for the Deutsche Krebshilfe and its foundation, Deutsche KinderKrebshilfe. The series culminated in a national final held at the Golf- und Landclub Bad Neuenahr.
Approximately 7,000 golfers from 130 clubs across Germany participated in the series since March. The funds were generated through tournament entry fees and personal donations from players. Over its 45-year history, the Golf-Wettspiele initiative has raised a total of approximately 10.3 million euros for cancer-related causes.
In the gross category, Mei Ling Terborg of Golf-Club Westerwald e. V. and Melvin Schöning of Golf-Club Hoisdorf e. V. were named winners. They presented the donation check to Gerd Nettekoven, the board member of Deutsche Krebshilfe. DekaBank served as the general sponsor for the event.
