Deutsche Presse-Agentur posts 2025 profit rise and launches AI research assistant
The Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) announced that its 2025 financial year ended with a modest increase in profit to €1.6 million, up from €1.4 million the previous year. Revenue at the dpa GmbH grew to €107.4 million, while total group turnover fell slightly to €159.8 million.
At the same time, the agency highlighted its AI strategy, introducing a KI‑Research Assistant to simplify access to its news content and unveiling a new pricing model that governs the use of dpa material for training large language models. dpa executives described these moves as part of a broader shift toward digital transformation and AI‑enabled media services.
CEO Peter Kropsch and editor‑in‑chief Sven Gösmann emphasized that dpa aims to maintain its core journalistic role while adapting to faster media concentration and changing user habits driven by artificial intelligence.
