Deutsche Umwelthilfe wins lawsuit on luxury car emissions and rebukes minister over methane rule

The German environmental group Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) secured a court ruling that requires manufacturers of luxury cars to disclose CO₂ emissions and fuel‑consumption figures, strengthening transparency for high‑end vehicles.

DUH also condemned Economy Minister Katherina Reiche’s attempt to delay the EU methane‑emission regulation in Germany, arguing that the proposal would create legal uncertainty for businesses and undermine existing EU law. The group urged the federal government to pass the already‑drafted implementation act for the methane rule.
