Deva dog attack leads to owner's detention

A 49-year-old woman was hospitalized after being attacked and bitten on her right leg by a Malinois dog in an apartment building hallway in Deva. The incident occurred near an elevator when the dog reportedly emerged from an apartment.

Police identified the owner of the animal as a 58-year-old man. The owner was unable to provide a clear explanation as to how the dog exited the residence, despite claiming the apartment door was closed. Following the incident, authorities opened a criminal case for failure to take preventive measures against a canine attack. The man has been detained for 24 hours and placed in the Deva Detention and Preventive Arrest Center.
