Deva to host Brâncoveanu Holy Family cultural event

The city of Deva, in collaboration with the Drăgan Muntean Cultural Center, will host ‘The Days of the Holy Brâncoveanu Family’ from September 21 to 23, 2026. This three-day cultural and educational event is dedicated to the memory of Saint Voivode Constantin Brâncoveanu, Lady Maria Brâncoveanu, and their four sons: Constantin, Ștefan, Radu, and Matei.

Under the motto ‘Faith, Culture, Education, Art, History,’ the program aims to connect historical legacy with contemporary values such as dignity, family, and responsibility toward the nation. The event will feature a variety of activities, including theater, film, conferences, and exhibitions.

The first day, September 21, focuses on children and education through art. Activities include a puppet theater performance at the Liviu Oros Amphitheater titled ‘The Angel Who Watches Over Us and the Cunning Thief,’ which draws inspiration from the exterior paintings of historic churches in the Vâlcea, Gorj, and Mehedinți regions.
