DEVELON unveils DEF‑free DTL26 and DTL30 compact track loaders
DEVELON announced two new compact track loaders, the DTL26 and DTL30, that operate without diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) or selective catalytic reduction systems. Both machines are powered by a D24 diesel engine kept under the 74‑horsepower threshold, eliminating the need for DEF storage and handling. The DTL26 offers a rated operating capacity of 2,600 lb, while the DTL30 is rated at 3,000 lb (35 % of its tipping load). Features include a spacious ergonomic cab, rear‑view camera, 8‑inch touchscreen, and optional 270‑degree around‑view monitor with proximity sensors. Smart Assist functions such as return‑to‑dig, bucket shake and auto self‑leveling help less‑experienced operators achieve precision. High‑flow hydraulics and quick couplers enable rapid attachment changes. Andy Jeong, product manager, said eliminating DEF “removes a significant pain point for our customers.” Operator Anthony Amato praised the cab’s comfort and visibility during a test near Boston.
