Developer ports DOOM to $30 FNIRSI clamp meter

Developer Artur Bieniek has successfully ported the classic shooter DOOM to a FNIRSI DMC-100 clamp meter, a device typically used for electrical measurements. The project utilizes the doomgeneric engine to run on the meter's Artery AT32F415 chip.

Despite the hardware's significant limitations, specifically only 32 KB of RAM, the port supports the first episode of Freedoom: Phase 1. This includes all nine levels from E1M1 to E1M9, the title screen, intermissions, the finale, and four save slots. The game is displayed in color on the device's 320 x 240 screen, with sound effects provided by the built-in buzzer.

In a unique technical workaround, Bieniek used a DJI RC-N1 drone controller to manage the gameplay on the multimeter.
