Developers automate website publishing using GitHub Actions
Technical workflows are being streamlined through the use of GitHub Actions to automate website deployment processes. Developers are utilizing the platform to manage various build tools and cloud integrations.
One implementation involves setting up a Java environment and the Clojure build tool, Leiningen, alongside the Amazon Web Services (AWS) command-line interface. This process includes creating limited-access AWS users to securely upload files to S3 buckets using repository secrets for credentials.
Other workflows utilize Middleman to build static sites. These configurations include steps for checking out git history, configuring AWS credentials, and managing Node.js and Ruby dependencies. Once the build is complete, the static site is deployed to an S3 bucket using S3 Sync.
