Development Bank of Wales provides £7.5m for housing projects
Two local developers in Wales have secured £7.5 million from the Development Bank of Wales to fund new housing projects in Carmarthenshire.
Solitaire Homes has received £5.7 million for the third phase of the Priory Fields development in St Clears. This phase will add 24 homes to the site, seven of which are designated as affordable housing. Once completed, the Priory Fields development will total 76 homes.
Mentrus Developments has been awarded £1.8 million for the third phase of the Maes y Teirw project in Carmarthen. This phase involves the construction of seven energy-efficient homes on a 2.2-acre former industrial brownfield site. The funding for the Carmarthen scheme also utilizes the bank’s Green Development Incentive to support lower-carbon building practices.
