Deventer approves eight million euro loan for Go Ahead Eagles stadium

The Deventer municipal council has approved an eight million euro loan to Go Ahead Eagles to fund the renovation and expansion of their home stadium, De Adelaarshorst. This municipal contribution completes the total twenty million euro required for the project.

The club will provide seven million euros of its own funds, while an additional five million euros will be borrowed from major shareholder Kowet BV. The renovation focuses on the IJsseltribune and the B-side (Brinkgreverweg) tribune, which General Director Jan Willem van Dop stated are currently outdated regarding safety and accessibility requirements.

Once completed, the stadium capacity is expected to increase from 10,400 to 13,000 supporters. Construction is scheduled to begin following the final home match of the current season on May 16, 2027.
