Deventer police seek suspects in doorstep explosions

Police in Deventer have released surveillance footage following an incident where two individuals targeted residential front doors with explosives. The explosions occurred in the early hours of Saturday, September 12, in the Rode Dorp neighborhood at Het Groenedijkje.

The blasts caused two front doors to catch fire while residents were sleeping. Although the explosions were loud enough to wake multiple neighbors, no injuries were reported. One resident attempted to extinguish the flames with water before firefighters arrived to control the situation.

Footage shows two suspects approaching the location. One individual was observed wearing a white mask, while the other wore black trousers with white stripes. Authorities believe the masked individual placed heavy fireworks at the door while the second person acted as a lookout, potentially filming the act. Police are currently investigating the motive and seeking public assistance to identify the suspects.
