Deventer relics exhibition opens at Broederenkerk

The Broederenkerk in Deventer is hosting a special exhibition titled ‘Bewaren + Bidden + Bewonderen’ (Preserve + Pray + Admire), running through September 13. The exhibition explores the history and significance of Deventer's relics from approximately 940 to 2026.

Central to the display is an 1891 reliquary containing the relics of four saints: Lebuinus, Marcellinus, Radboud, and Mildred, housed in a chest dating from 1696. The exhibition covers the preservation of spiritual heritage, the role of relics as invitations to prayer, and the artistic craftsmanship involved in their presentation.

Admission to the Broederenkerk is free. Guided tours are offered on Thursdays and Fridays at 14:00.
