Devi Scarno faces 200,000 yen fine request in Tokyo assault trial

Prosecutors have requested a 200,000 yen fine for celebrity Devi Scarno, also known as Devi夫人, during her second trial at the Tokyo District Court. Scarno is accused of two separate assault incidents: allegedly throwing champagne glasses and towels at an employee in a Shibuya restaurant in February 2025, and assaulting a manager at a veterinary clinic in October 2025.

During the hearing, Scarno partially denied the charges, stating she did not throw glasses or engage in hitting or kicking. However, she expressed regret for her lack of self-control, describing her actions as a result of her own “lack of virtue.” Her defense argued that the incidents were unplanned and that the victims were not injured, noting she has already suffered approximately 90 million yen in economic losses due to canceled appearances and program departures.

Following the trial, Scarno expressed disappointment on social media regarding Nippon Television's reporting, claiming the coverage was biased and focused solely on the victims' statements. The court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on October 6.
