Devin Haney given 20‑day deadline by WBO to negotiate bout with mandatory challenger Keyshawn Davis

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) ordered welterweight champion Devin Haney to begin negotiations with his mandatory challenger, Keyshawn Davis, within 20 days. If the fighters fail to reach an agreement, the WBO will call for a purse‑bid, a process that would allocate 75% of the purse to Haney as the defending champion. Both fighters have expressed willingness to make the fight happen on social media. Haney, who captured the WBO welterweight title in November, has not yet defended the belt. The WBO’s championship committee, led by Luis Batista Salas, issued the formal letter outlining the negotiation timeline and the subsequent 10‑day window to submit bout agreements and venue details.
