DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan has announced that the party's congress has been moved forward to September 6 due to legal requirements. Bakırhan expressed hope that Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ will be able to attend the event, noting that their release could be facilitated by existing European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) decisions.

In a separate development, members of the DEM Party İmralı delegation, Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, visited Selahattin Demirtaş and Adnan Selçuk Mızraklı at Edirne Prison. Following the visit, they reported that the detainees are in good health and are closely following the political process, specifically regarding the framework law. The delegation emphasized the importance of the framework law, which has received significant support from the Turkish Grand National Assembly, for the advancement of peace and democracy.

Addressing political rumors, Bakırhan denied allegations of election bargaining between the DEM Party and the government, calling such claims an injustice to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli. He further noted that the implementation of the framework law could potentially affect 125,000 investigation files and lead to the release of approximately 3,800 to 3,900 detainees in its initial phase.
