Devlet Bahçeli criticizes Amedspor research and identity politics
MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli has issued a strong response to recent research findings regarding Amedspor, claiming that attempts to link the football club to identity politics are part of a plan to sabotage the 'Terror-free Turkey' process. Bahçeli specifically criticized a study conducted by the Kurdish Studies Center (KSC) and Rawest Research, which suggested that 38% of participants view Amedspor as a representative of identity rather than just a football team.
Bahçeli also condemned surveys regarding the religious beliefs of the Turkish people, labeling such efforts as attempts to undermine national and spiritual values. He called for legal sanctions against research organizations that he claims use misleading information to manipulate public opinion and stir social division.
In a separate context of national unity, Bahçeli highlighted the passage of the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration in the TBMM, which received 467 votes. He emphasized that the goal of a 'Terror-free Turkey' remains a priority and that there will be no reversal of this process, urging sports clubs and the public to avoid provocations that could threaten social peace.
