Devlet Bahçeli details new residence for Abdullah Öcalan

MHP Leader Devlet Bahçeli has provided details regarding a newly constructed residence for Abdullah Öcalan on Imrali Island. According to reports from journalist Nagehan Alçı following a meeting with Bahçeli, the house is a two-story structure located within the prison grounds.

The building is designed with a workspace or office on the lower floor and a living area on the upper floor. The residence includes a garden area enclosed by walls, featuring both soil for planting and concrete sections intended for exercise. Bahçeli described the facility as offering humane living conditions suitable for a normal flow of life.

Despite the construction, Bahçeli noted that Öcalan has refused to move into the house. The refusal is reportedly linked to Öcalan seeking specific legal status and waiting for the implementation of a framework law and the functioning of established councils before transitioning to the new residence.
