Turkish political parties hold major congresses
Turkish political parties are holding several major congresses. The Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) has conducted provincial congresses in Malatya, Erzurum, Antalya, Kayseri, Konya, and Hatay. In these meetings, current leaders such as Turgay Şengönül in Malatya and Adem Yurdagül in Erzurum were re-elected. MHP leaders emphasized the 'Terror-free Turkey' goal and discussed potential revisions to the Presidential Government System to strengthen political stability.
Simultaneously, the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) held its 5th Ordinary Grand Congress in Ankara. Co-chairs Tuncer Bakırhan and Tülay Hatimoğulları were re-elected to their positions. The party announced the launch of a 'Democratic Republic Movement' and noted that while the co-chairs remain, approximately 40 percent of the Party Assembly has been renewed. Party officials discussed the Kurdish issue, social peace, and the need for a new social consensus in Turkey.
Other political developments include the Yeni Party announcing its convention schedule and local leadership changes in Aydın and Kırklareli. Additionally, Yeni Party officials expressed opposition to the privatization of certain highways and bridges.
