Devlet Bahçeli outlines 'Terror-free Turkey' strategic initiative

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli has outlined the 'Terror-free Turkey' initiative, describing it as a strategic foundation for the nation's future prosperity and regional influence. The process follows the legislative framework for strengthening national unity and social integration, which was recently passed by the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Bahçeli stated that the first phase of this initiative involves the disarmament of terrorist organizations and the clearing of terror elements from specific regions. He emphasized that achieving a 'Terror-free Turkey' is essential for the country to act more independently in foreign policy and to expand its influence across a broad geography, ranging from the Eastern Mediterranean and the Caucasus to the Middle East and Europe.

Furthermore, Bahçeli introduced the concept of 'Turkish Peace,' which aims to foster stability by supporting strong central authorities and territorial integrity in neighboring countries such as Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon. He argued that this approach disrupts historical imperialist plans, such as the Sykes-Picot order, by preventing the fragmentation of sovereign states into ethnic or religious autonomous zones.
