Devon Air Ambulance reports £1.1 million deficit

Devon Air Ambulance has reported a £1.1 million deficit in its latest Annual Report, prompting a call for community support to secure the future of its lifesaving services. The charity, which operates without direct government funding for daily operations, responded to more than 2,100 emergencies last year.

The financial shortfall is attributed to rising operating costs and a reduction in legacy income. The organization has forecasted a further deficit for 2026. To address these challenges, the charity is implementing efficiency improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and a review of its organizational structure. While these measures are expected to generate annual savings of approximately £400,000, officials stated this will not be sufficient to cover the total predicted shortfall.
