Devon and Cornwall Police seek volunteers for cadet programs

Devon and Cornwall Police have issued an appeal for volunteers to support Volunteer Police Cadet (VPC) groups in Launceston. The initiative aims to assist with the smooth running of weekly sessions at the local police station and provide support during various community events throughout the year.

Volunteers, acting as VPC Leaders, will help shape the understanding of local youth by supporting recruitment, delivering awareness sessions on legislation and policies, and promoting positive community engagement. The police force noted that while specific qualifications are not essential, experience working with young people and social media proficiency are advantageous. Candidates should be friendly, approachable, and capable of communicating effectively while respecting diversity and equality.
